Delivering for Queensland: STA Consulting Engineers’ Role in the Homes for Queenslanders Initiative

At STA Consulting Engineers, we are proud to be contributing to one of Queensland’s most important housing initiatives Homes for Queenslanders.

This program represents a significant commitment by the Queensland Government to increase the supply of affordable housing across the state, supporting communities and addressing growing housing demand.

A Collaborative Approach to Affordable Housing

Our engagement on this project has been in support of Metricon, who through its specialist project division EveryOne Homes, were awarded a major contract to deliver hundreds of new homes under the program.

Together, we are supporting the delivery of:

• 291 residential lots
• 483 homes, including a mix of detached dwellings and dual-key residences
• A staged rollout across multiple estates over approximately 2.5 years

This scale of delivery requires strong coordination, technical expertise, and a shared commitment to timelines and quality outcomes.

STA’s Engineering Contribution

STA has been engaged to provide a comprehensive suite of engineering services critical to the successful delivery of each home. Our scope includes:

• Geotechnical services – site soil classifications and wind assessments for subsequent engineering design
• Slab and frame engineering – designing cost effective and structurally sound foundations/slab and bracing/tie down tailored to site conditions
• Hydraulic engineering – delivering efficient and compliant water and sanitary drainage solutions
• Site inspections – ensuring compliance, quality, and readiness at every stage

Our involvement begins early in the project lifecycle, with geotechnical investigations scheduled ahead of title registration to keep construction timelines on track.

• Eldridge, Jimboomba
• Aldeia, Logan Reserve West
• Regent Quarter, Joyner
